Start Up Friday
All roads led to Kaduna for the sixth edition of Startup Friday. Hub Mangers, innovators, Government officials and the whole startup train headed down to Kaduna for the Startup Friday meet up and discussion on best practices on incubation in Nigeria. It was a great place to network with innovators and learn from other Start Ups in Nigeria.
The event commenced with a boot-camp session for startups led by our hub manager Bankole Oloruntoba. A total of 10 Startups prepared to pitch their ideas to the innovation community present in Kaduna. The atmosphere was electrified with the buzz of business in the air; the entrepreneurs spoke about their products, discussed the MVP and bragged about their Customers Numbers.
The highlight of the event was the Fire Chat session anchored by our very own Mr Banks. This was a chat between Hubs, incubator center managers and key players in the startup ecosystem. Important questions were asked on issues that bothered start Ups such as Financing, Copyrights, Team Building, and Government Policy.
Then there were the Pitching Sessions. It was time for the co-founders to let the Cat out of the bag. It was time to reveal those innovative products they had been working on in the obscurity of the figurative “Start up Garage”. Various founders and co-founder pitched their Startups; there was Aminu Bakori Founder Cloudora OS, Umaru Jibril Co-founder Yanay, Yusuf Zakari Co-Founder Asusu, Kemi Mustapha COO Tiro, and many others.
